The 20s dress draws inspiration from the silhouettes of the 1920s, a time when women moved away from restrictive clothing like corsets, bustles, and whale-bone panniers. What came instead were light, loose-fitting garments that followed the natural lines of the body. This dress carries on those traditions with its boat neckline, blouson waist, and open back. There’s also a new twist: a ribbon is sewn into the skirt, allowing you to cinch it and create a “limping” silhouette reminiscent of a mermaid tail. The dress is made from dense satin, a fabric often used for eveningwear. Here, the smooth side is turned inward, softening the formal feel and making it easier to wear day to day. The 20s вress moves beautifully with the body and won’t get in the way on the dance floor, which matters far beyond the Jazz Age.
