The Kashkorse Curved Dress

The silhouette of this dress pays homage to one of the creations of archaic sculpture, the kor statues (from the ancient Greek κόρη, meaning ‘girl’). Depictions of young women in static poses, erected as offerings to the gods, expressed admiration for the beauty and harmony of the female body and face. The kor were characterized by a slight smile, an elegant figure, rounded hips, narrow shoulders, and ornate clothing. The exaggerated anatomical silhouette is achieved here through a detachable petticoat with overlays that create the characteristic volume at the hips. The garment’s expressiveness is enhanced by a coating that imitates skin, giving the knitwear an almost cast-like appearance.
